Job Purpose

Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, the Legal Intern will receive a variety of work assignments from department attorneys in multiple practice areas, which may include employment, privacy, marketing, litigation, intellectual property, and more. This position also will have the opportunity to attend social events with fellow interns.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Legal team and interact with internal stakeholders on multiple projects.
• Perform and summarize occasional legal research.
• Assist the Legal team with drafting, negotiation, or inquiries from internal and external parties.
• Learn about corporate compliance best practices.
• Learn first-hand about Great Minds’ business operations.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated academic excellence and leadership ability
• Interest in K12 and/or interest or experience in the PEO, payroll, benefits, employment, tax, and/or privacy areas of the law
• Ability to effectively prioritize and manage time
• Attention to detail and commitment to providing the support needed to resolve issues
• Enjoyment of entrepreneurial environments and desire to help build something meaningful

Required Education

Good standing as a first-year law student at an ABA accredited U.S. law school

The expected base salary for this position is $30.00, however the offered salary may be higher or lower than the above range dependent on numerous factors including, but not limited to location, work experience, skills and internal equity considerations.. The base salary is not inclusive of benefits or other incentives.
