The Member Account Servicing Team Lead’s primary purpose is to assist Great Lakes Credit Union to live out our vision, “To be the members’ trusted financial partner.” Responsible for ensuring that outstanding service is delivered to both internal and external members, in alignment with our Standards of Greatness.

The Member Account Servicing Team Lead is responsible for supporting the Member Account Servicing Manager in ensuring the continuity and success of the department’s daily operations. The Member Account Servicing Team Lead is responsible for assisting in training and developing Member Account Servicing Specialists, as well as assuming responsibility for the department when the Manager is not available. This position performs postings and maintenance on special accounts and answer questions from team members regarding unclaimed property, deceased, HSA, IRA, legal orders, dormant accounts, and others in support of the Member Account Servicing Department. Meets and exceeds service expectations of managers and staff in all GLCU departments, in order that GLCU can provide the highest level of member service.

 As a Member Account Servicing Team Lead your duties will be: 

· Serving as subject matter expert on IRA/HAS, Deceased accounts, dormant accounts, and legal orders.

· Processing deceased claims and monitor accounts of the deceased.

· Reviewing all GLCU’s IRA/HSA transactions to ensure completion and accuracy in accordance with government regulations and bank policies. 

· Verifying records for IRA’s required minimum distributions (RMD), including tracking records, set-up, file maintenance, annual record audits, and IRS reporting.

· Answering and resolve all member inquiries and escalations related to IRA/HSA and Deceased account matters.

· Point of escalation on IRA/HSA, Deceased accounts, and legal order requests such as levies, subpoena, Power of Attorney (POA), citations, and all other court orders.

· Processing Unclaimed Property twice a year and ensure GLCU is up to date with state compliance.

· Providing training to branch employees and other department employees on IRA/HSA products and transactions. 

· Acting manager in the absence of Manager.

· Responsible for maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations, and following all GLCU’s policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Requirements

• One year to three years of similar or related experience
• A high school education or GED
• Managerial responsibilities to entry level employees 
• Significant level of trust and diplomacy is required 
• Work involves extensive personal contact of personal or sensitive material
• Decision making requires analytical ability, judgement, and ingenuity
