Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

S., Summit is seeking a motivated, talented marketing pro who possesses cross-functional department communication experience and leadership skills.

The primary roles of the position are marketing project manager (75%) and writer (25%).

High quality business writing is a crucial facet of the position. Submission of three (3) writing samples is required with application.

  • Manage marketing projects of all types originating in the marketing department or submitted by stakeholders from departments throughout Summit.
  • Identify and document internal customer objectives, audience, standards, timing, budget, and distribution methods.
  • Research, prepare, write, and review articles for internal and / or external communications, which include general announcements, presentations, newsletters, advertisements, operational changes, press releases, content for internal / external websites, and / or communications to customers.

Ensures communications are appropriate, accurate, and grammatically correct.

  • Educate internal customers about communication review process and procedures, as needed.
  • Route and secure appropriate approvals from stakeholders and management.
  • May plan and organize activities and events for internal customers or employees relating to trade shows, special promotions, rollouts, product launches, and / or public / community relations.

Collaborates with management and other functional areas (Sales, Underwriting, Loss Prevention, etc.) to understand desired outcomes and to participate in recommending creative approaches to ensure objectives are met.

Prepares estimates and budget; ensures events costs remain within the approved budget.

  • Review and confirm accurate use of artwork, logos, layout, and visual brand.
  • Distribute material via multiple traditional and digital media, ensuring compliance with procedures, company policy, and corporate identity.
  • Contribute to maintaining company archives / libraries of projects, photographs, logos, graphics, communications, newsletters, press releases, and other communication materials.
  • Respond to routine inquiries, requests, concerns, and / or complaints. Refer non-routine inquiries to managers.
  • Quickly develop subject matter expertise in the workers’ comp insurance field.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • The person hired for this position will work out of the Lakeland, FL office which offers a hybrid work environment of 3 days in the office and 2 days' work from home.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree : Business, Communications, Marketing, Journalism or another marketing-relevant discipline.
  • 4 to 5 years of marketing project management experience.
  • Self-motivated believer in continuous professional growth and pursuing excellence.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Command of verbal and written English, writing samples required with application.
