Grateful Greens mission is to provide New England with the freshest, tastiest, and most nutritious microgreens possible and to foster relationships within our community to serve it to the best of our ability.

Reports to:Farm Manager, Sales and Marketing Director

Job Description:

The job consists primarily of delivering microgreens to Grateful Greens customers as well as sampling prospective customers to various locations across southern Vermont, southern NH, northwestern MA, Boston, and eastern NY. Delivery days are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, with additional days likely. We are seeking someone that has flexibility for nights and weekends especially during the winter months. A day consists of 6-9 hours of delivery driving in our delivery van. The work day starts at 7:30 am to come and get the delivery van up to proper temperature and load products. Candidates should be familiar with driving in snow, willing to be a team-player, hard-working, customer service focused, flexible, and able to positively engage with customers upon arrival and delivery of product. This person will also be cross trained at our farm and be an integral part of the whole process from seeding to delivery. Tasks at the farm will include cleaning, seeding, watering, harvesting, and packaging microgreens.

Responsibilities:

  • Timely Deliveries: Safely and efficiently transport goods to designated locations within established timeframes.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine checks on the delivery vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Report any issues promptly. Track all maintenance and share costing with accounts payable.
  • Route Planning: Plan and optimize delivery routes to maximize efficiency and minimize delays with support of the Sales and Marketing Director.
  • Sampling: Ability to sample microgreens to prospective customers with clear explanation of features, advantages, and benefits of microgreens for their restaurant or retail store.
  • Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service by delivering products with a friendly and professional demeanor. Handle basic customer inquiries and address delivery-related concerns.
  • Documentation: Printing invoices and collecting payments, as well as logging van temperature, accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Adherence to Policies: Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations to ensure a safe and secure delivery process. It is also necessary to follow all instructions necessary for farm activities and supporting proper growing, harvesting, and packaging of the microgreens.
  • Communication: Maintain open communication with the Sales and Marketing Director as well as the Farm Manager providing updates on customers, delivery progress, farming, irrigation, material and operational elements of both jobs.
  • Load and Unload: Load and unload products from the delivery vehicle, ensuring proper handling, and temperature to prevent damage.
  • Inventory Management: Keep track of delivered items and report any discrepancies or shortages to the Sales and Marketing Director so invoices are updated effectively.
  • Farm Duties: Planting, watering, harvesting, packaging, and cleaning.
  • Other Tasks: Can be assigned as needed by Grateful Greens.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Class C / Standard operator driver’s license, a clean driving record and professional experience driving a large van or truck is a plus.
  • Must have reliable transportation. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items.
  • Attention to detail, critical thinking capabilities, and a high level of reliability.
  • Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with GPS devices and route optimization software.
  • Flexible and positive attitude.
  • Basic math skills.

Physical Requirements:

The job may require sitting or standing for long periods of time sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items weighing up to 50 pounds. The candidate should be able to stand, walk, and drive for extended periods.

Working Conditions:

This position involves driving a delivery van, outdoor work, exposure to varying weather conditions, hands-on farm work, and occasional weekend or evening hours.

30-32 hours per week, Mon-Thurs to start, 8 am - 4 pm, $20 / hour
