We are currently hiring for a Color Match Technician in our Dallas Branch. Any experience in the sign, screen printing, or digital printing fields is a plus!

Summary/Objective:

Develops color formulas for printing inks and sign paints; mixes lacquers, UV inks, solvents, varnishes and bases for sale and in accordance with customer specifications.

Essential Functions:

• Uses the Pantone Matching System (PMS) number to run formulas for ink matches, and the Colorstar system to formulate the colors when there is no PMS number is available.
• Inputs the color formula into the computer system, which generates a print out of the inks needed and the measurement for each ink. Pulls the correct inks and uses the mixers to blend them together.
• Test prints the ink on a screen and cures it so that the actual color can be tested against the PMS book or customers' sample; sends a sample to the customer, if requested.
• Puts completed mixture into appropriate containers, weighs and labels finished product; places finished product in designated pick up area; updates stock information on the computer system and completes invoice data entry information.
• Records color formula on color match log and inputs formula on the computer system.
• Monitors ink and supply inventory and requisitions inks and supplies as needed.
• Reviews and trains on mixing paint procedures.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the work area and clean and return tools at the end of the shift.

Experience and Skills:

Education or Experience Required:

High school diploma or GED. At least six months of related experience and/or training in a production related environment. Some familiarity with computers and the ability to perform basic math functions.
