The Foreclosure Revenue Deputy collects delinquent taxes, and processes and records receipts to the Treasurer’s various accounts to assure their accuracy and completeness.
The County Treasurer collects taxes from various sources among its constituents and allocates those to a wide variety of taxing districts. This position’s focus is on collecting delinquent real, personal property and manufactured home taxes, including foreclosure and distraint actions of properties in tax delinquency. The position is also responsible for filing and managing claims to the bankruptcy court. The position is responsible for receipting and accounting of these funds and allocating them to the proper accounts. The work involves the use of computer-based accounting systems and property tax databases. Customer service and communication skills are important as a Foreclosure Revenue Deputy.

Work is performed in an office while sitting at a desk or computer workstation, with occasional standing at the public service counter. The incumbent may meet frequently with citizens, some of whom may be agitated about their taxes. Work includes travel throughout the county. The job’s duties do not require substantial lifting or other physically fatiguing work.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
The physical abilities described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, write, hear, speak, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, go up and down a ladder and/or step stool to retrieve/file away files, and lift up and/or move up to 50 lbs. of unequal weight. The position requires the employee to stand and/or sit for 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. Regular computer keyboard work is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distant vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
