Position Summary:

The Dispensary Manager will be responsible for attracting, hiring, managing, supporting, and retaining a team of Dispensary staff. The Dispensary Manager will oversee the daily operation of the dispensary including (but not limited to) scheduling shifts, patient paperwork, cash handling, inventory management, opening and closing the dispensary, daily goal setting with staff, overseeing the cleanliness of the dispensary, and consulting with patients. The Dispensary Manager is also responsible for training the retail associates, maintaining regulatory compliance, and assists in developing Assistant Dispensary Managers(s). The Dispensary Manager will be responsible for delivering a positive experience to patients who visit the dispensary. The Dispensary Manager ensures that the dispensary complies with state laws, regulations, local ordinances, and company standards. The successful candidate is compassionate and able to maintain patience and flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment. Outstanding customer service skills, interpersonal management abilities, and communication skills are a must. The Dispensary Manager collaborates with the General Manager (GM)/Assistant General Manager (AGM) to develop and implement strategies that support a results-driven culture with a superior and unique customer experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide department leadership to ensure all operations are functioning with integrity and in the most cost-efficient, compassionate, and compliant manner.
  • Possess a high level of initiative and drive to do whatever is necessary to build and run a successful operation.
  • Establish clear communications along all lines within the business & maintaining an Open-Door.
  • Work with the management team to increase customer counts and to develop a loyal base of satisfied, return patients.
  • Own all patient feedback. Provide patient complaint resolution. If the complaint needs to be moved to another department or escalated to GM, follow up until resolved.
  • Utilize patient and staff feedback to readily implement changes to improve customer service.
  • Maintain established standards of transaction times, customer service and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance goals are met within designated timelines.
  • Ensure all sales and inventory transactions are accurately recorded and in accordance with state and local laws and regulations.
  • Assist with development of sales goals, create initiatives to meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, clean, professional, and welcoming environment for patients and co-workers.
  • Maintain a full knowledge of all Cannabis and Non-Cannabis Products sold.
  • Maintain effective communication with the GM/AGM, reporting any concerns and informing of any patient escalated situations immediately.
  • Ensure flow of patients into the dispensary from the lobby is smooth and timely.
  • Ensure all daily tasks have been completed, including all logs, with an emphasis on accuracy.
  • Contact patients as needed and as appropriate.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all the times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Personnel Management

  • Create a cohesive, team atmosphere among staff, which is fun and professional while remaining focused on compliance, safety, and customer service.
  • Develop and train team members to consistently deliver exemplary customer service.
  • Model a teamwork and employee-oriented work environment that is conducive to enhancing employee productivity, employee engagement, education advancement, and brand culture.
  • Monitor, manage, and review/approve time-clock punches on timecard, attendance, and time-off requests.
  • Ensure all employees have accurate, up-to-date knowledge and materials related to their position.
  • Participate in the recruiting, selection, training, development, discipline, termination and success of employees.
  • Hold team members accountable, foster teamwork, and identify coaching opportunities and improvement areas.
  • Leverage sales and staffing data to optimize scheduling strategy for operational success.
  • Oversee a team of Dispensary Techs and an Assistant Manager utilizing delegation techniques to ensure efficient daily operations of the dispensary and that all tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Identify and address employee issues on a timely basis. Document appropriately, communicate the situation to your supervisor and the human resources department.
  • Effectively and diplomatically address issues that arise from employees and provide performance feedback.
  • Complete manager check-ins with staff and work with Assistant Manager and Dispensary General Manager on annual performance reviews.
  • Attend meetings as required.

Regulations/Compliance

  • Maintain dispensary operations by adhering to GLC’s Policies & Procedures for the dispensary and fully comply with State of NH Therapeutic Cannabis Program (TCP) regulations.
  • Maintain, update, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that ensure regulatory compliance, safety best practices, and operational success.
  • Monitor success of SOPs and continuously tweak and optimize processes for efficiency.
  • Participate in developing and implementing operational rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to advance GLC’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives.
  • Initiate and maintain positive relationships with abutting businesses and neighbourhood groups and associations, with approval from GM/AGM.
  • Effectively manage cash controls and financial reporting. Ensure POS, cash outs, bank logs, inventory and deposits are accurate and executed according to GLC standard.
  • Work with the AGM to create and adhere to a schedule for ongoing inventory audits and reconciliations.
  • Ensure all sales and inventory transactions are accurately recorded and in accordance with state and local laws and regulations.
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality of all patient (HIPAA regulations) and employee information.
  • Stay up to date on NH Cannabis laws and be the resource for patients and other employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 21 years of age or older as required by the NH Therapeutic Cannabis Program.
  • Able to pass all background checks.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Fluent in MS Office application suite, with emphasis on Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Associate or bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in retail operations leadership position.
  • 2 years of experience with cannabis retail management.
  • Sales Data analysis experience preferred.
  • Arithmetic necessary for basic inventory and cash management.
  • Set and maintain healthy and professional boundaries with patients and employees.
  • Highest level of integrity and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent time-management skills, ability to effectively plan and prioritize.
  • Demonstrated proactivity, flexibility, adaptability, and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and absolute reliability and honesty.
  • Excellent team building, communication, and people skills.
  • Knowledge of cannabis sales and comfortable working in a regulated industry.
  • Must have open availability and be able to accommodate scheduling that includes varied shifts, weekends, some holidays and special events.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with staff. Must be able to exchange accurate information about product availability/offerings.
  • Ability to work in person, non-remote position.
  • Uses manual dexterity to frequently operate computer/POS system and other standard office equipment such as printers, phones, and photocopy machine.
  • The person in this position must have visual acuity to be able to observe and assess product transfer operations via cameras and monitor product transfer activity(ies).
  • Physical aptitude and health necessary to perform manual labor tasks required for the proper management of the dispensary. May include: sitting, standing, stooping, stretching, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, performing repetitive motions, carrying boxes, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 50 lbs.
