Is responsible for office reception including answering questions and referring visitors and phone calls to appropriate persons. Helps administrators with problem solving and handling complaints. Assists with emergencies providing first aid or evacuation guidance. Assists with general office secretarial duties which may include: registration, inventory, student and teacher checkout, etc. Is responsible for student lockers, bus requests including cost reports, student and staff injury reports, special permits, personal and professional leave for teachers, substitutes and substitute payroll, fee waivers and mail distribution. Under the supervision of the principal, the secretary is responsible for the courteous and efficient operation of the office. Essential Functions
Provides secretarial services to the school administration which may include many confidential personnel issues.
Responsible for office reception including answering questions and referring visitors and phone calls to appropriate persons
Assist administrators with problem solving and handling complaints
Assists with emergencies providing first aid or evacuation guidance
Assists with general office secretarial duties which may include: registration, inventory, student and teacher checkout, etc.
Responsible for student lockers, bus requests including cost reports, student and staff injury reports, special permits, personal and professional leave for teachers, substitutes and substitute payroll, fee waivers and mail distribution
Help with other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge And Skills
Requires skill in word processing (55 wpm preferred), computer operation plus relevant software, work organization, operation of business machines, basic math, bookkeeping, oral and written communication and interpersonal relations.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to deal with people in a professional manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.
Ability to work effectively with others in circumstances that may include some stress.
Ability to organize work and materials.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of district, employee and other information.
Ability to operate a variety of office machines.
Required Knowledge, Skill And Ability
High School diploma or equivalent.
Annual updates for medication and CPR certification and training.
Required Prior Experience
Previous secretary experience preffered
