WHAT'S YOUR DAY LIKE?

As a new Education & Career Specialist at Granite Edvance, you'll have the opportunity to engage with clients, assess their needs, and develop personalized education and career plans.

Your days will involve conducting virtual or in-person consultations, providing resources and individualized guidance, delivering virtual or in-person presentations to a variety of stakeholders, and evaluating the effectiveness of the organization's career planning and success programming.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

To excel as an Education & Career Specialist at Granite Edvance, you'll need exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and collaborate effectively with colleagues.

Your problem-solving abilities, coupled with empathy and customer-centricity, will be key in fostering trusting relationships with those seeking your assistance.

The ability to provide bilingual support and / or experience supporting diverse populations of individuals is desired.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are :

  • 3-5 years of experience in school or career counseling, college admissions, financial aid, or workforce development
  • Strong presentation and public-speaking skills, with an ability to interact with a wide range of participants and groups of all sizes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • A strong desire to work with individuals across a wide range of socio-economic demographics
  • Self-motivated, and able to thrive in a frequently changing environment, working with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, as required by business needs.
  • Ability to travel as required by position or business needs; up to 80% to travel to local schools, partners, conferences, and meetings.
