GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

Ensure effective accountability and execution of systematic inventory process schedules, quality assurance processes and standards, and inventory management processes and standards.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Tour facilities, including outside storage areas, daily to physically inspect inventory and identify inventory concerns and opportunities to improve inventory processes
  • Monitor daily workflow of inventory processes and provide ongoing employee training and support to achieve desired inventory management objectives
  • Oversee merchandise claims management process and ensure that all merchandise returns are processed in accordance with company policy
  • Ensure that full vendor credit is received for applicable merchandise claims
  • In coordination with the Loss Prevention Manager, plan and prepare in advance for scheduled cycle counts
  • Under the direction of the Loss Prevention Manager, and in coordination with the Inventory Management Team, develop methods to reduce and eliminate shrink, and improve internal processes/controls
  • Conduct regular cycle counts of merchandise in accordance with cycle count schedules
  • Prepare Inventory Status Report (ISR) monthly and present results to key management throughout the Company, as requested
  • Report inventory standings, shrink, negative quantities on-hand, receiving issues, store concerns, and excessive shrink concerns to supervisor on a weekly basis
  • Meet with Store Manager on a routine basis to make aware and discuss any inventory issues
  • Verify all inbound and outbound merchandise is accurately received, shipped, and posted
  • Collect information about mis-loads, receiving errors, and employee training and development needs to supervisor monthly, or as requested
  • Oversee all transfers, review them for accuracy in accordance with established policies, and ensure their timely and accurate completion
  • Assist in the compliance of all Federal and State regulatory requirements, including compliance with internal and external audits, and company policies and procedures
  • Attend and participate in monthly Inventory Manager Meetings to discuss previous and ongoing Company performance results, location-specific performance results, current related topics, current personal development and employee training needs, and share best practices for counting, receiving, resolving inventory errors, monitoring shrink, etc.
  • Regularly participate in store meetings and provide relevant inventory updates
  • Demonstrate excellent internal and external customer service, ensuring that the customer experience achieves The Grange Way standard
  • Demonstrate regular predictable attendance
  • Perform other tasks and duties as requested by supervisor

 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The position has supervisory responsibilities over posting and receiving positions, and functional responsibility over all inventory management processes

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

 MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

 REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

  • Ability to be trained to use all equipment, tools and applications at store-level
  • Strong desire and aptitude towards continual process improvement
