Grand View Health is Hiring a Point of Care Coordinator, Laboratory Near Sellersville, PA
Schedule: Full Time, Days - Mon-Fri, varied start times between 6am & 7:30am
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Laboratory Manager, the Section Coordinator supervises and coordinates the activities of the sections assigned in areas including, but not limited to, inventory control, staffing, personnel matters, fiscal and budgetary duties, and day-to-day operations, in order to facilitate the flow of patient data used in patient care of patients of all ages and to maintain productive and efficient laboratory operation. Essential Functions:
Works in conjunction with Medical Director and Laboratory Manager to ensure QC, PM, procedures and competencies are performed and documented correctly.
Interviews and recommends candidates for new or vacant positions in order to maintain section viability.
Ensures that procedure manuals are current and reviewed annually to comply with regulatory agencies.
Maintains a sufficient inventory of supplies and reagents so that emergency orders are not necessary.
Provides payroll data on a biweekly basis and monitors benefit day utilization to maintain minimum staffing levels.
Coordinates the employee evaluation process to promote staff development.
In order to monitor section and laboratory productivity, provides correct and complete workload statistics.
Assists in the development of the laboratory budget, to include manpower, capital equipment and operational expenses, in order to help fulfill the fiscal responsibilities of the laboratory.
Participates in the evaluation of new test methodology and instrumentation in order to keep the laboratory current with established practices.
Covers on-call time or other shift in times of emergencies/shortages in order to maintain laboratory minimum staffing levels.
Oversees the section quality control programs in order to maintain a viable testing environment.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or equivalent required.
Over 3 to 5 years of clinical laboratory experience with demonstrable supervisory skills preferred.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Credentialed or certified by an agency approved by the National Commission for Health Certifying Agencies (NCHCA), i.e., ASCP, NCA, HEW, etc., upon hire, preferred.
