Responsibilities

Under general direction of the General Manager, the Billing Coordinator assists with billing functions and insurance verification.

Essential Functions :

• Daily review billing preview report checking accuracy as it pretains to HCPC's codes, diagnosis and modifiers and corrections of errors prior to the release of billing.
• Monitor active rental data base and send for new scripts and authorizations as appropriate.
• Sends claims electronically to Medicare and most commercial insurances
• Timely review EOB's and send / call in appeals to insurance companies for denied claims
• Review payments for accuracy and appeal or refund as appropriate
• Timely sends statements, dunning letters and places collection calls to obtain payment.
• Prepares and sends patient accounts to collection agency after all attempts to receive payment have failed.
• Posts payment to patient accounts
• Sends invoice balances to patient and or 3rd party payers.
• Processes incoming mail and prepares bank deposits.

Qualifications

Education and Experience :

High School Diploma / GED required
