SUMMARY
The Lift Operations Supervisor is responsible for preparing daily staff assignments, conducting pre-shift meetings and supervising the day-to-day functions of Lift Operations under the direction and guidance of the Lift Operations Manager and Assistant Manager. Actively conduct and participate in ongoing Lift Operator training and monitor the day-to-day activities of Lift Operators and Lead Lift Operators, making suggestions and demonstrating good technique where applicable. Assist Lift Maintenance with daily pre-operational inspections and tests as assigned. Assist the Lift Operations Assistant Manager to prepare and update weekly work schedules for staff. Assist with recruiting, interviewing and hiring seasonal staff. Complete additional projects as assigned by the Lift Operations Managers. A key part of every employee's job is to serve as a Targhee ambassador, engaging the guest at every opportunity.

Provides daily guidance and assistance to 20-30 Lift Operators and Lead Lift Operators at all lifts. Attempts to improve operational performance of operators when observing, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS

Must have demonstrated leadership qualities, communication skills and the ability to work well with others. Good communication skills, ability to train, coordinate and oversee the work of others.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 1 year experience as Lead Lift Operator, Lift Maintenance, or equivalent, intermediate skiing/riding proficiency, knowledge of mechanical operation of lifts, minimum 21 years of age. High school graduate or GED required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
High level of communication with coworkers and resort guests. Greet customers in a congenial manner and answer a variety of questions about ski trails, weather and snow conditions, lift schedules and riding time, and general information about the resort and area. Read and understand manuals, safety signs, machinery control labels, warning placards and indicator panels as printed.
REASONING ABILITY
Requires efficient problem-solving skills. Receives instruction/advice from the Lift Operations Manager for daily tasks. Needs to take the initiative and go out in the field and perform tasks. High level of independence but keeps the Lift Operations Manager informed at all times.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works in high, precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The work environment includes noise from Motor Rooms of lifts, snow cats working in the area, and snowmobile noise.
