BASIC FUNCTION: The ED Paramedic works under the direction and supervision of the ED Physician.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Triages, preforms assessments, initiates interventions and provides treatments.
• Determines priority of care based on physical, psychological, and social needs.
• Records patient triage, assessment, interventions and administered medications in the electronic health record.
• Administers medications, preforms various diagnostic tests and interventions.
• Assists physicians during examinations and emergency procedures.
• Operates and monitors medical equipment as necessary.
• Observes patients’ progress, records observations in patient medical record, and updates provider when necessary.
• Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic Certificate issued by the State of Colorado.
• Must have current BLS certification upon hire
• PALS and ACLS certifications required within 6 months of initial employment.
• A minimum of 6 months’ experience in a similar role is preferred.

SALARY:

• $22.00 - $25.00 Dependent on experience
• 10% PRN differential
• Additional $2.00 - $4.00 an hour for weekend and night shifts
