Grand Rapids Ophthalmology, a partner of Blue Sky Vision, is looking for a Lasik Technician to join their growing team. Ideal candidates will possess strong communication and computer skills and extend superior client service by creating a positive first impression and showing patients that we provide unsurpassed care right from the start.

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interact with patients to accurately gather information and enter into electronic medical records related to their health history, visual acuity measurements, lensometry (measurement of glasses prescription), tonometry (measurement of eye pressure), refracting, etc.
• Use diagnostic equipment to obtain reliable scans and information for refractive surgery.
• Careful entry of pre-surgical data and paperwork preparation for surgical procedures.
• Communicate with surgical sales representatives for equipment/program troubleshooting when needed.
• Assist team members and complete other special projects as requested

EDUCATION

• Minimum of HS Diploma

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Previous Optometry, Ophthalmology, or medical background preferred.
• Experience with NextGen software or other EHR is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be well-organized, a team-player, and detail-oriented.
• Motivated and dependable with a patient-friendly personality.
• Demonstrated superior computer skills.
