Restaurant Hostess

We are searching for an individual who would be available primarily during EVENING hours for a minimum of 3 nights of availability INCLUDING some weekend combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday, but never all three---- plus other additional potential fill in spots as well throughout the daytime & evenings.

Gran Caffe L'Aquila is an award winning Restaurant, Caffe, & Bar located in the Rittenhouse area of Center City on Chestnut Street. We are the landmark authentic Italian destination featuring a rotating special menu that features a new Italian city each week.

Hostesses are essentially the face of the restaurant, as they are the first person who greets guests when they arrive- A positive CAN DO attitude is most certainly needed, and of course a smile!! We are a fun family owned and operated restaurant and we take pride in customer service and expect you to do the same!

Responsibilities Include:

Welcoming guests as they arrive to the restaurant. Determine if they have a reservation or they are walking in and seat them accordingly based on our availability. Direct takeout guests to the counter to order their gelato/caffe/takeout order, as well as delivery drivers that are here to pick up their orders.

Answer the telephone promptly and make reservations or direct the phone call to the proper department. Take messages when needed and deliver said messages to the appropriate authority.

Help to wipe down tables during busy times, as well as assist your teammates in daily upkeep of the restaurant, bar, caffe & luxury market.

Assist in daily restock of luxury market.

Smile and remain upbeat, positive and outgoing at all times.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 35 per week
