Senior Associate Paralegal (Bi-Lingual Full-Time)

Location: (Currently Remote-New York Tri-State Area preferred)

Salary: $70,000/yr. - $75,000/yr. commensurate with experience

Job responsibilities:

Administrative:

  • Manage state licensing filings and reporting requirements.
  • Conduct and summarize legal due diligence reviews.
  • Manage escrow and escheatment timely reporting.
  • Conduct KYC reviews on IDology platform and advise team of results and follow up actions, if necessary.
  • Maintain calendar and tickler list of annual and periodic corporate, charitable, or other necessary filings on a state and federal basis. Collaborate with required departments on information collection and submission.
  • Track Legal budget.
  • Respond to subpoenas for member/employee information.
  • Develop and maintain contract tracking process and filing.
  • Review bankruptcy filings and include results in member profile.
  • Assist with litigation as necessary.

Investigative:

  • Work with VP, Operations, Finance, HR, and other teams as necessary on investigations involving member or employee misconduct, fraud, and related actions. This will include, but not be limited to, document reviews, interviews, and reporting.
  • Track investigation progress and resolution.

Legal Research:

  • Conduct research on legal issues as they arise during employment.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Associates or higher degree
  • 3-5 years relevant experience
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, innovative environment.
  • Confidentiality and integrity a must
  • Attention to detail; must be comfortable learning new technologies.
  • Ability to produce relevant and creative presentations in PowerPoint.
  • Must be able to communicate with all levels of individuals from our community-based members to peers to Senior Leadership Team
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • This position will require that the person be licensed with NMLS, the state of New York and other states as Grameen opens new branches in other locations.

Travel:

  • Attend quarterly staff meetings in New York City required.
  • Travel to field branches as required.
  • Position is currently remote but may be subject to a hybrid schedule in the future.
