Grameen America is Hiring an Intern Near New York, NY
Salary: $25 per hour Financial and Impact Analysis Co-OpGrameen America, Inc. (GAI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping women who have no access to financial institutions build small businesses to create better lives for themselves and their families. We offer microloans, training and support to fight poverty in the United States, starting with the poorest women in each community we serve. Started in 2008 in Jackson Heights, New York, GAI has served over 140,000 low-income women and disbursed over $2 billion dollars. Currently, we operate through 25 branches across the United States and have an ambitious plan to scale our footprint and impact over the next 5 years. GAI is interested in hiring a financial and impact analysis co-op position. This position will begin in the remote environment with the possibility of some in-person work in NYC pending GAI's developing reopening strategy. Reporting to the Director and Sr. Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis and the CFO, they will support financial analysis and treasury operations across the organization. The position offers significant potential for personal growth and exposure to a leading domestic social enterprise as we embark on the next exciting phase of our development in the United States. Responsibilities
Provide strategic support to Director and Sr. Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis for organizational growth and efficiency
Modeling/analysis to monitor progress and growth of organization and individual branches
Maintain databases to ensure data quality and consumer metrics are accurate and distributable
Assist in developing processes for impact analysis based on real-time and historical data
Provide support to Treasury and Accounting needs of entire branch network
Provide data analysis support for generating reports on a periodic basis
Clerical duties to help with accounting procedures, inclusive of Shared Services Center Support, as necessary
Budgeting analysis to monitor expenses of organization and individual branches
Qualifications
Junior or senior undergraduate in an area requiring integrative and analytical thinking (e.g. Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.)
Knowledge of common approaches for research and strategic analysis
Experience working both individually and with a range of teams
International development and/or nonprofit exposure highly preferred
Passion for working in a social enterprise environment
Detail oriented.
Strong time management and multi-tasking abilities.
Self-motivated and autodidactic.
