Grain Millers is Hiring a Fiber Relief Operator Near Saint Ansgar, IA

Grain Millers is an ingredient supplier to all the major food companies across the world. The Fiber Relief Operator position is working with the fiber operators in creating different fiber products for our customers. These products are packaged in 50 pound bags, super sacks or pneumatic trailers. This position will require you to coordinate and plan production scheduled with the operator to accomplish your production goals.

Work Schedule is 12 hour shifts from 6 pm - 6:30 am on a 4 on 4 off schedule.

Regular duties and responsibilities:

  • Equipment:
    • Complete scheduled metal detectors tests.
    • Clean system magnets on set schedule.
    • Light maintenance to include, but not limited to:
      • Replacing or repairing spouting components, drive belts, drive chains, grain leaks, lubrication, bolts, setscrews, etc. ( does a lot of their own maintenance)
    • Complete required tool changes and checks.
  • Assisting in the operation of fiber plant which includes, but are not limited to:
    • Produce products to required specifications (product quality) for all specific ID numbers.
    • Complete production sampling, testing and QA documentation according to product specifications and deliver to QA Lab.
    • Document production runs according to specifications.
    • Responsible for product change overs.
    • Maintain clean working environment and perform simple maintenance and preventative maintenance on equipment.
    • Relief for the fiber plant operator and packaging operator for breaks and meal periods.
    • Comply with most recent written HACCP program.
    • Rework material as directed by QA.
    • Work as a team with co-workers and train new team members of all policies and procedures.
    • Follow the G.M.P (Good Manufacturing Practice) and safety guidelines as per Grain Millers, Inc.
    • Maintain a clean working environment and equipment.
    • Communicate with A & C Mill operators, FSB staff, QA, Management and truckers and vendors
    • Assist in coordination with R&D runs.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Fork lift experience.
  • Flexible and willing to accept changes on short notice.
  • Willing and able to learn new technology.
  • Possess basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment.
  • Self motivated and ability to work in a fast paced environment.
