As the largest private flour milling company in the nation, Grain Craft has an immediate opening in our Great Falls, Montana mill for a full-time Utility Worker. Position Summary: This entry-level job is for utility work in the facility and will train to be operator relief in all departments. This will also include Preventive Maintenance work when scheduled.

Essential Job Duties:

· Responsible for assigned floors and weekly master sanitation tasks.

· Provides assistant miller/elevator relief which includes performing wheat running, bulk loading, and wheat unloading.

· Performs a monthly inspection list; performs weekly duties from the Master Sanitation Checklist

· Performs preventative maintenance duties such as with sifters, roll changing, cleaning, hoppers/spouts, blower filters, and inspecting belts and sheaves

· At all times an employee needs to be actively maintaining a safety culture. Always thinking of personal safety and those that you are working with.

· Follows Plant GMP requirements and always be thinking of food safety when working on or around equipment

· Works independently by being able to find new tasks with other essential job functions, without being guided to do so.

· Performs other duties as assigned

Non-Essential Job Duties:

· Drags spouts

· Assists with maintenance personnel as needed

· Performs various mill projects as they arise

· Cleans elevator pit

· Serves on safety and food safety committee

· Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

Experience: Prefers experience in the farming, flour, or food production environment, but not required.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to verbally communicate and hear. The team member is frequently required to bend, stoop, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, feel, repetitive motion, balance, exert 50 lbs of force, climb, reach, and kneel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

  • Conditions can include: hot summer temperatures, cold winter temperatures, and windy conditions (in excess of 40 MPH)
  • Must be able to work in confined / tight spaces

Other (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities): Must be able to understand and apply oral and/or written instructions, complex problems, and to collaborate and explore alternative solutions. Ability to apply common sense in performing the job; make decisions that have a significant impact on the immediate work unit and department. Ability to complete routine forms, using existing form letters and/or conduct routine oral communications. Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word, communicating orally with others accurately.

This position is contingent upon successfully passing both a background check and drug-screening. Grain Craft maintains that we are a drug free company on all levels.
