Description

Summary:

· Performs routine manual labor duties as assigned. May work alone on routine or familiar tasks. Reports to area supervisor and his/her designate. Receives on the job leadership and guidance and training from employees of higher classifications. 

Job Duties:

· Assist in various departments as needed including but not limited to assembly, weld shop, machine shop, yard and maintenance.

· Uses hand and power tools as required by the job.

· Observes safe working procedures and monitors good housekeeping standards.

· Performs other duties as assigned by the area Supervisor or his/her designate.

Requirements

Education and Experience Required: 

· High school diploma or GED/BOCES required. 

Working Conditions:

· May be required to move items up to 60 pounds for distances of up to 10 feet. May be required to stand, stoop, bend, kneel and squat for extended periods of time. May be exposed to fumes or dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather, moving mechanical parts and moderate to loud noise levels. Must wear appropriate protective gear and clothing as necessary.
