CNC Operator

Job Title : CNC Operator

Job Summary : We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our print and event production team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines, specifically in the context of print and event production.

This role involves using CNC equipment to fabricate various materials such as wood, plastics, and metals to create signage, displays, and other promotional materials for events, exhibitions, and retail environments.

The CNC Operator will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machinery to ensure the accurate and efficient production of high-quality products.

Responsibilities :

  • Machine Setup : Set up CNC machines according to job specifications, including loading materials, selecting appropriate tools, and securing workpieces.
  • Programming : Create and modify CNC programs using computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software based on design specifications provided by clients or internal teams.
  • Material Preparation : Prepare materials for machining processes, including cutting, sanding, and shaping workpieces to ensure they meet project requirements.
  • Operation : Operate CNC machines to execute programmed tasks, monitoring machine performance and making adjustments as necessary to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Quality Control : Inspect finished products to verify conformance to quality standards and specifications, making adjustments to machining processes as needed to address any issues.
  • Maintenance : Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Safety : Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while operating CNC machinery, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following proper safety guidelines.
  • Documentation : Maintain accurate records of production activities, including job setups, machine maintenance, and quality control inspections.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with other team members, including designers, production managers, and project coordinators, to ensure seamless workflow and timely completion of projects.

Requirements :

  • Experience : Proven experience as a CNC Operator, preferably in the print and event production industry.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in operating CNC machinery and familiarity with CAM software for programming (e.g., AutoCAD, Mastercam).
  • Knowledge : Understanding of materials commonly used in print and event production, such as wood, acrylic, aluminum, and foam board.
  • Attention to Detail : Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work with precision and accuracy.
  • Problem-Solving : Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues related to machining processes.
  • Communication : Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with team members and follow instructions.
  • Safety Consciousness : Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Physical Requirements : Ability to lift and move heavy materials and equipment as necessary, and willingness to work in a dynamic production environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Certification : Certification or training in CNC machining or related fields is a plus.
  • Experience with Print Production : Familiarity with print production processes, such as large format printing and finishing techniques, would be advantageous.
