SUMMARY
The Patient Safety Monitor I under the supervision of the Professional Registered Nurse, the Licensed Practical Nurse, and / or the Physician, is responsible for providing age-appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintaining a safe environment, collecting information, communicating effectively, and utilizing technology.
The Patient Safety Monitor I provides continuous monitoring and supervision of selected patients who meet eligibility criteria for involuntary status under the Georgia Mental Health Code (1013, 2013, 1014, 1021 certificates), but are not limited to, patient requiring suicide precautions, patients who need supervision to prevent them from falling or otherwise harming themselves when it is not feasible for the nursing staff to provide these services.
The role of the Patient Safety Monitor I also includes patient advocacy and performance improvement.
