SUMMARY
The role of the Accounts Receivable Reimbursement Specialist includes third party billing and follow-up procedures, with core responsibilities in payer-specific A/R analysis, advanced billing special projects, and denials research and resolution. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Two - three (2 - 3) years experience with the following:
    • Hands-on knowledge of UB-04 and HCFA 1500 claim forms billing and follow up functions both electronic and manual
    • Advanced knowledge of CPT, ICD-9 coding, HCPCS, revenue codes and terminology for hospital billing
    • Working knowledge of Medicare regulations, medical necessity restrictions, and Medicare Secondary Payer guidelines
    • Experience with Georgia Medicaid primary and secondary billing; including electronic, direct data entry, and hardcopy submission
    • Demonstrated service and success in teamwork and consistent high productivity and quality
  • Business knowledge and results oriented experience within Patient Financial Services
  • Working knowledge of entire healthcare revenue cycle, and keen understanding of processes that drive successful billing and collections
  • Experience within a large academic Level I Trauma facility is desirable.
  • Siemens INVISION, EPIC, ePREMIS experience preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the Microsoft Suite skill set to include Excel and Word
  • Highly motivated, organized and detail oriented with excellent teaming skills
  • Excellent communication, time management, and reporting skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible, work collaboratively among internal and external departments, as applicable to identify and help resolve small and large-scale issues
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively investigate, analyze and problem solve
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately type 30 wpm
  • Successfully complete competency exam with 90% proficiency
