We are seeking a custodian to work in our Grace Community Building in Greenburg, IN

At least 20 hours per week.

Compensation : $13.00 / hour

Duties :

• Vacuums rugs, carpet, upholstered furniture, furniture and drapes as needed in the common areas. Notifies supervisor if additional cleaning is needed.
• Responsible for proper use of materials (following MSD), daily cleaning, and reporting of any issues to the Site Manager and / or Maintenance Technician.

Reports when supplies are getting low and re-order of inventory is necessary.

Sweeps and mops hard surface floors located in restroom(s), kitchen area, and stairwells.

Strips and seals floors as needed, if not completed by a contractor.

• Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork, and all surfaces associated with the common areas as needed.
• Washes windows, screens, door panels, and sills as needed.
• Empties wastebaskets.
• Empties resident trash and waste to the dumpster, with assistance if needed by other staff.
• Assists maintenance technician in making small repairs in accordance to their skill level and reports work order issues that are beyond their ability.
• Dusts furniture and all other surfaces within the work area (office) and common area including both high and low dusting.
• Performs functions of the Site Maintenance Technician in their absence only as they are able based on abilities, such as cleaning of HVAC filters.

May assist Maintenance Technician in extracting and replacing of PTAC wall units due to heavy weight

Through a team, effort, under the direction of the Site Manager, completes all identified property apartment turnover tasks utilizing the checklists provided.

These duties may include painting and cleaning of vacant units as assigned.

• Develop and maintain good working relationship with residents, families, and co-workers.
• Articulate and promote Faithful Caring into customer interaction with residents and clients, implementing the four tenets of Faithful Caring and the appropriate behaviors in the day-to-day operations.
• Assist in providing either direct care for trees, lawn and shrubs as requested, including for snow removal and application of de-icing chemicals on sidewalks.
• Assist in completing work orders and material inventories on the computer.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures of the organization and all federal and state laws regarding the privacy and confidentiality of resident and staff information.
• Performs other duties as directed.

Qualifications :

• High School Diploma or GED
• Previous experience in housekeeping or a janitorial position desired.
