Position Overview:
This positing is an entry or mid-level accounting professional responsible for maintaining financials records as part of a team. The duties including confirming with IRS rules and other regulatory agencies, USGAAP standards, reconciling bank statements, and balancing the general ledger.
This position is responsible for maintaining financial procedures and confirming financial compliance through the preparation of the company's reports and financial statements.
Essential Duties:
Sets up and maintains general ledger/month-end closing/financial statements.
Responsible for preparation of recurring, reclassification, standard and adjusting journal entries in accordance with USGAAP.
Prepares analyses of general ledger accounts and reconciles general ledger account balances to supporting schedules and sub-ledger detail.
Maintains and updates construction in progress.
Performs financial statement analysis and review for accuracy and legal compliance.
Prepares bank reconciliations.
Prepares general excise tax returns on both cash and accrual method.
Sets up and maintains fixed assets schedules to include additions, retirements, depreciation (book, tax, alternative minimum tax), including journal entries.
Prepares audit workpapers and assists with quarter, interim and annual audits.
Assists with special projects as requested.
Other Duties:
Performs other duties as assigned.
Promotes awareness of and follows Company and general safety policies.
Exhibits a core understanding of mutual respect and good customer service orientation in interactions with all people in the workplace.
Working Conditions:
Hours: Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, occasional overtime.

Internal Contacts: All levels of operational and administrative management.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Skills/Knowledge:
Math: Strong mathematical skills.
Licenses: Valid driver's license and favorable traffic abstract.
Education: Bachelor's degree. Degree in Accounting Preferred. CPA or master's degree in business or related field preferred.
Experience: 0-5 years related experience. Public accounting, as well as construction and cost accounting experience preferred.
Other: Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Email; aptitude to learn in-house systems; keyboarding skills sufficient to complete daily tasks in a timely manner.
