Description

Grace Hospital is seeking a candidate with experience scheduling staff in a hospital setting. This position is a Part-Time position M-F 4 hours a day.

Is responsible for effectively staffing each nursing unit according to its requirements in conjunction with the CNO and managers. Ensures that Assignment Sheets are correct and complete for nursing. Completes daily reports on hours per patient day on a timely basis.

1. Composes the general schedule for nursing, including RN, PCA, and Unit Secretaries of all sites. Closely adheres to staffing requirements as outlined in Hospital Policy and those expressed by the CNO as well as taking into consideration schedule requests of staff.*
2. Communicates with all Agencies to fill open shifts.
3. Ensures that the manual schedule, Daily Staffing Sheets (DSS) and Paycom schedules are consistent.
4. Tracks the time and attendance records of nursing, utilizing call in sheets, punch detail reports and information supplied by the CNO. Communicates infractions of attendance policy requiring disciplinary action to Chief Administrative Officer.
5. Ensures Assignment Sheets are accurate and complete.*
6. Maintain compliance with budgeted Nursing Hours per Patient Day.
7. Acts as liaison between nursing units and personnel and strives to fill all anticipated and unanticipated shifts with appropriate personnel; maintains excellent rapport with all nursing staff.
8. Completes daily reports, as requested by CNO for staff compliance with total hours per patient day, etc.
9. Supports selective Administrative duties in support of Nursing Leadership.

Qualifications

Education: High school graduate or equivalent

Experience: Experience with staff scheduling in a hospital setting preferred. Experience working with all levels of clinical personnel in a hospital setting required. Experience utilizing Excel and Word required.

Other: Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Effective oral communication skills.
