We are seeking Family Support Specialists for various counties in West Virginia. As a vital part of our agency, candidates must hold a valid Driver's License, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and demonstrate experience working with children. This independent contractor role necessitates a clean background check (fingerprinting) with no history in CPS/APS.
Family Support Specialists play a crucial role in providing observation and supervised visitations for children and families involved in the CPS system. Strong communication and documentation skills are essential, as is the ability to work autonomously. This position offers the flexibility to create your own schedule, with full-time specialists averaging approximately $40,000 annually, with potential earnings up to $60,000 based on caseload. **Position Description:**
Family Service Workers will receive referrals from DHHR/Judge/CPS workers for clients requiring supervised visitations or supervision services. Responsibilities include supervising interactions between parents and children, providing transportation to visitations and documenting observations during visits. Additionally, transportation services may be required for clients attending drug screens, court appearances, or appointments as requested by the department.
Scheduling is based on client needs, sometimes requiring flexibility to accommodate evening and weekend visits. It is imperative to adhere to weekly visit schedules for all assigned clients, with missed visits requiring makeup sessions. The role entails significant driving, compensated at $0.65 per mile. Visitation rate is $20 per hour plus mileage. Supervision rates start at $15 per hour plus mileage.

- Possess a clean driving record
- Pass a background check
- Have a reliable vehicle with insurance
- Hold a high school diploma/GED
- Professionalism and a willingness to work are essential.
