Job Title: Children’s Ministry Assistant

Reporting to: Children’s Ministry Pastor

Hours: Part-time (up to 15-20 hours/week); special events may accrue more than 20 hours

Position Overview: The role of the Children’s Ministry Assistant is to assist the Children’s Ministry Pastor in providing vibrant and inviting programming that reflects the love of Christ and enables children from birth through 5th grade and their families to grow in faith. The candidate will work with the Children’s Ministry Pastor and Grace Fellowship team to plan and implement programming for the children and families of Grace Fellowship.

Job Responsibilities & Duties

• Available to work during worship on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.
• Create a safe, positive, nurturing, and age-appropriate learning environment for each child.
• Assist in planning & prepping the curriculum used in the children’s programs.
• Regularly teach small group & large group classes for children’s programs.
• Assist in planning seasonal events and programs such as Grace Kids Camp, Back to School Bash, Summer Blast, Easter, and other activities.
• Help recruit, coordinate, and train children’s ministry volunteers.
• Assist in organizing and cleaning all spaces and equipment in the children’s area.
• Use the church software to schedule events, communicate with other departments, and track attendance for children's ministry activities.
• Build positive, professional, and supportive relationships with families.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Children’s Ministry Pastor.

Academic Qualifications

• Ministry or Bible education preferred.

• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Strategic and creative thinker capable of thinking through the details of a plan.
• Ability to work well with parents, volunteers, church staff, and children.
• Exhibit Biblical knowledge and teaching ability.
• Time management with the ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Friendly, patient, flexible, and prompt.
