Job Overview:

Grace Church is seeking a Coffee Hour Support Staff and child care person who will help prepare, serve and clean up after our post-worship coffee hour and watch the children during the 10am service.

Reports to: Administrative Manager and Facilities Manager

Coordinates with: All other staff and volunteers

Expectations Education, Skills, Competencies, Experiences, and On-going Requirements

• Ability to communicate well with church members, staff and volunteers who use the kitchen and depend on the Coffee Hour Support Staff.
• Willingness to be flexible and creatively respond to needs of the priest and members on Sunday morning, saying “yes” to any number of unexpected situations, within reason/skill set
• Ability to provide a consistent and reliable presence before and after worship services
• Capacity to be self-directed with minimal instruction and supervision

In collaboration with the Administrative Manager and the Facilities Manager, Coffee Hour Support Staff will be responsible for:

• Preparing, setting up and cleaning up the Sunday worship refreshments for coffee hour
• Communicating regularly with the Administrative Manager about start time, end time and work hours
• Communicating when additional supplies are needed for coffee hour
• Responding to texts and emails within a 2-4 hour window of time while at work

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in a standard kitchen setting and to use standard kitchen equipment, and strength to lift and carry materials weighing up to 30 pounds on an occasional basis. Compensation and Hours

Part-time, $22/hour. 3-5 hrs/week of work. Coffee Hour Support Staff will arrive at 8 am in the kitchen and leave not earlier than 12 noon on a Sunday, often 12:30. Schedule will be as assigned by the Administrative Manager and/or the Facilities Manager, which may vary.
