Grace Christian Preschool is a ministry of Grace Church, a Global Methodist Church. We are currently offering a Tuesday/Thursday 9:00-11:30 AM session for 3 year olds.

Overview:

GRACE CHRISTIAN PRESCHOOL 05/01/2024

The Teacher is a member of the teaching team for the specific care and education of children (3-year-olds), for approximately 8 hours a week. The teacher is responsible for planning and implementing curriculum, supervising children, supervising an assistant, communicating with parents, providing a healthy and safe environment for children, and providing overall Christ-centered instruction and care.

Educational Qualifications:

The teacher will have a minimum of an associate degree or equivalent, and preferably a baccalaureate degree in early childhood, child development, or elementary education/certificate.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reflect the purpose of the school which is to honor Christ in every activity.

• Lead children to a realization of their self-worth in Christ.

• Provide a safe, loving, nurturing, developmentally appropriate, and Christ centered

enriched classroom setting that allows students.to progress according to their age and

ability.

• Along with the assistant greet arriving children to the school environment by greeting and helping them remove outerwear and selecting activities of interest to them.

• Keep proper discipline in the classroom and on the school premises to maintain a good learning environment.

• Maintain a clean attractive, well-ordered classroom.

• Provide various materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play.

• Teach basic skills such as color, shape, number, letter recognition, personal hygiene, and social skills.

• Teach proper eating habits and manners.

QUALIFICATIONS:

SPIRITUAL:

• Has received Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior.

• Believe that the Bible is God's Word and standard for faith and daily living.

• Be a Christian rote model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others. This includes being committed to God's Biblical standards for sexual conduct.

• Be a member in good standing at a local evangelical church

that has a Statement of Faith in agreement with Grace Church Preschool.

• Show by example the importance of Scripture study and memorization, prayer, witnessing, and unity in the Body of Christ.

ESSENTIAL:

• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrate a commitment to servant leadership.

• Reflects a Christ-like spirit in dealing with student-teacher, parent-teacher, and student-student relationships.

• Has a positive attitude and is an encourager to students and colleagues.

• Uses a variety of teaching methods and evaluation tools.

• Strong classroom management skills.

• Problem solver.

• Strong communication skills (oral and written).

• Organized.

• Technical skills to use technology in the classroom.

• Able to physically perform teacher responsibilities, including bending and lifting 20 pounds.

• Recognize the need for good public relations. Represent the preschool favorably and professionally to the school's constituency and the public.

• Develop and maintain rapport with children, parents, and staff by treating others with friendliness, dignity, and consideration.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift

License/Certification:

• CPR Certification (Preferred)
• Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)

Work Location: In person
