Pediatric Emergency Department Registered Nurse

• Must have 3 years of experience working in the emergency department in a pediatric hospital setting
• 13 week contract
• 36 hours per week
• Shifts: flexibility is a must -rotating shifts including overnights - every other weekend
• Must have active VA license or compact license as well as BLS, PALS, ACLS, and CPI

Duties:
- Provide direct patient care to pediatric patients, ranging from infants to adolescents
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor patients' conditions and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team
- Assist with procedures and treatments, such as wound care, immunizations, and IV therapy
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, medications, and self-care techniques
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic health record systems (e.g., eClinicalWorks)
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients

Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in VA and Compact license
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in pediatrics or a related field
- Knowledge of pediatric acute care principles and practices
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in using medical equipment and technology commonly used in pediatrics (e.g., ventilators)
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems (e.g., eClinicalWorks)
- CPR certification

Pay: $2,458.00 per week
