ABOUT THE POSITION

Job Title: Associate Director of PR, Marketing

Hiring Manager: Chief Marketing Officer

Employment: Full-time

Location: Fort Lauderdale or New York - Hybrid

Salary Range: $150,000 - $200,000 plus annual discretionary bonus

The Associate Director of Public Relations serves as a key marketing expert within GQG's Marketing Team. This seasoned professional showcases exceptional prowess in marketing investment offerings to a diverse clientele, encompassing intermediary, institutional, and retail segments across the globe. The successful candidate will be charged with leading public relations campaigns designed to elevate the company's brand presence and foster positive engagement with the media, stakeholders, and the public.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain relationships with finance, business journalists, and local PR agencies globally
  • Handle all media inquiries and interview requests
  • Write and distribute press releases and media advisories
  • Pitch story ideas and secure coverage in print, broadcast, and online media
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive PR strategy in line with the firm's business objectives
  • Craft key messages and talking points for the firm and its representatives
  • Manage crisis communication and rapid response to any negative press or publicity
  • Write and edit content for various platforms such as websites, social media, newsletters, and annual reports
  • Prepare presentations and briefing materials for executives
  • Identify and engage with key stakeholders including clients, investors, industry influencers, and policy makers
  • Organize and manage TV appearances
  • Represent the firm at industry events and networking opportunities
  • Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication channels
  • Monitor and report on the firm's reputation and brand perception
  • Collaborate with the greater marketing team to align PR campaigns with marketing initiatives
  • Communicate PR strategies and results to internal stakeholders
  • Educate and train staff on PR best practices and media interaction
  • Facilitate internal communication to ensure employees are informed and aligned with the firm's mission and goals
  • Ensure all PR activities comply with financial industry regulations and standards
  • Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to manage risks associated with public disclosures
  • Monitor public opinion and feedback about the firm
  • Develop strategies to enhance the firm's reputation and address any negative perceptions
  • Keep clients informed about the firm's investment strategies, market outlook, and performance through regular updates and reports

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 - 10 years of proven experience in a public relations, corporate communications, or media relations role
  • Experience in financial services or investment management industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, finance, or a related field
  • Proven track record of handling media inquiries and building relationships with journalists and influencers
  • A track record of successful PR campaigns and initiatives that have enhanced company reputation
  • Strong understanding of the financial markets, investment products, and regulatory environment
  • Proficiency in the use of PR software, social media management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Deep knowledge of financial media landscape and contacts at key financial publications
  • Competence in monitoring and analyzing media coverage and PR campaign results
  • Ability to use analytics tools to track the effectiveness of PR initiatives and adjust strategies accordingly
  • Skilled influencer with the ability to gain buy in with different teams across the business
  • Results-driven, high-performing individual with a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic with a professional demeanor and an intellectual curiosity
