GPD is excited to continue expanding our professional surveying services into the Louisville, KY market and is looking to hire a Project Surveyor. GPD Group prides itself on being a forward-thinking company that includes the use of traditional survey paired with newer technologies in UAV and LiDAR. This Project Surveyor will share a passion for innovation, survey expertise and leading the technical effort to deliver on project execution and client satisfaction.
Role Qualifications:
  • BS in Land Surveying or equivalent degree that would allow path to licensure.
  • Passed the NCEES Fundamentals of Surveying (FS) exam.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in the Survey industry, primarily in the field.
  • Desire and proficiency in working on resolution of centerlines, parcel boundaries and rights of way for design projects.
  • General proficiency in AutoCAD or other drafting software (i.e., MicroStation, Inroads, Civil3D) with a desire to expand on this skillset to support design efforts for the Survey team .
  • Experience with Laser Scanning and UAS technologies a plus.
  • Experience on Kentucky Transportation Cabinet projects a plus.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.
  • Thrives in a collaborative project environment and enjoys all forms of communication while working with clients and team members (virtual, in-person, phone).
Key Responsibilities:
  • Project work in our Survey group provides the opportunity to interact with multiple stakeholders and in a wide variety of services that encompass our discipline: this includes all practices/market sectors that GPD services: Public Works, Transportation, Roadway, Traffic, etc.
  • Strategic Planning and Project Execution includes working with the Project Manager to develop and execute strategic actions aligned with both Survey and GPD Group goals: GPD is looking for a go-getter that is passionate about driving growth and opportunity for the company. They would coordinate with other professional surveyors and project teams to complete project scope and schedule on time and within GPD’s quality standards.
  • Technical project work includes all aspects of surveying including (but not limited to) input on field operations, drafting of topographic surveys and resolution of boundaries. It will also encompass preparing surveying documents, reviewing plats and easements, researching past survey maps and deeds.
