Experience Required : 4-6 years in NY State / NYC permitting

Job Description :

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Permitting Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in navigating the permitting processes specific to New York State and New York City, with a particular emphasis on working with the NY State Department of Buildings (DOB) and the NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).

Key Responsibilities :

• Prepare and submit permit applications to NY State DOB and NYC DEP.
• Track and manage the status of permit applications, ensuring timely approvals.
• Communicate with regulatory agencies to resolve any issues or delays.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all permit submissions and approvals.
• Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to ensure all necessary permits are obtained prior to the commencement of work.

Qualifications :

• 4-6 years of experience in construction permitting within New York State and New York City.
• Extensive experience with NY State Department of Buildings (DOB) and NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) permit filing.
• Basic knowledge of reading construction drawings (not blueprints).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a major plus.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Experience with additional permitting processes and agencies within New York State and New York City.
• Familiarity with other construction-related regulatory requirements.
