gpac is Hiring an Outside sales Near Flint, MI

Job Description

Position Summary :

Outside Sales Representative This position is newly created to increase the level of personal interface with existing customers and add new customers for our company.

The territory for this position includes Michigan (except the Upper Peninsula), Indiana and Ohio. The position requires travel 3-4 days per week, with 1-2 office days.

Most travel can be conducted with day trips, but occasional overnight travel (2-3 nights per month) is also required. A company vehicle will be furnished, as will a company credit card to cover other travel expenses.

Customers and prospects are in the following market segments :

  • Home organization and storage
  • Kitchen and bath cabinetry
  • Healthcare furnishing
  • Commercial office furniture
  • Store fixture
  • Multifamily housing (kitchen and bath)

Responsibilities :

Your work will include, but not be limited to :

  • Establish, maintain, and enhance relationships with existing customers in the territory
  • Present products, services, and capabilities to prospective and existing customers
  • Develop and maintain a prospect list for potential new customers
  • Relay relevant information on market conditions, competitive information to the company
  • Educate customers on products and services
  • Develop effective sales strategy and territory coverage plans
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales performance
  • Monitor competitor activities
  • Conduct market and industry research as required
  • Follow up on sales leads within the territory
  • Resolve customer complaints in conjunction with Customer Service in a timely manner

Experience :

  • Background in home improvement, cabinetry is helpful, but not required
  • Familiarity with different sales techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Highly developed attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills and consistent follow-up
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently

Education :

Business Administration degree or similar is helpful, but not a requirement.
