**Job Title: Concrete and Asphalt Estimator**
**Location:** Dallas, TX
**Overview:**
We are seeking a skilled Concrete and Asphalt Estimator to join our team in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating costs for concrete and asphalt projects, including but not limited to driveways, parking lots, sidewalks, and roadways. The Concrete and Asphalt Estimator will play a crucial role in accurately assessing project requirements, preparing bids, and ensuring that projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
**Responsibilities:
**1. **Project Assessment:** Evaluate project requirements by reviewing blueprints, specifications, and other relevant documents to determine the scope of work, materials needed, and labor requirements.
2. **Cost Estimation:** Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for concrete and asphalt projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
3. **Vendor and Supplier Coordination:** Identify and solicit bids from vendors and suppliers for materials and services required for each project. Negotiate pricing and terms to ensure competitive rates and timely delivery.
4. **Bid Preparation:** Develop comprehensive bid proposals based on project specifications, cost estimates, and other relevant factors. Present bids to clients in a clear and professional manner.
5. **Client Communication:** Collaborate closely with clients to understand their needs, address any concerns or questions, and provide updates on project progress and cost estimates as needed.
6. **Budget Management:** Monitor project budgets throughout the duration of each project, identifying and addressing any cost overruns or discrepancies to ensure profitability and client satisfaction.
7. **Documentation and Record Keeping:** Maintain accurate records of project estimates, bids, contracts, change orders, and other relevant documentation. Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
8. **Continuous Improvement:** Stay informed about industry trends, materials, and construction techniques to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.
**Qualifications:**
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as an estimator in the concrete and asphalt construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, RSMeans).
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation abilities
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes in the Dallas, TX area is a plus.
