GP Strategies Corporation has an opening for an Aircraft Materials/Tools Management Specialist. This is a full-time, benefitted, onsite position supporting our aerospace client in Fort Worth, TX. This is a full-time, benefitted position. The schedule for this position is Monday – Thursday (four 10-hour days) and is a first shift position. The hours for first shift are 6 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Please note that candidates may also need to be flexible to work other shifts as well, if required.

Job Summary:

·Communicates and tracks status of material, tools and assemblies with training management.

·Expedites material and tools to meet training schedules.

·Ensures timely transportation of material and tools to assigned areas to meet training course needs.

·Reports part shortages and works to replenish low stock by coordinating through our material handlers, following established procedures.

·Performs tasks involved in the storing, ordering and transporting of material, parts, kits, tools and supplies to maintain fully-stocked training labs.

·Responsible for maintaining a ready-stock of consumables and perishable tools.

·Coordinates with training instructors and training management to ensure classrooms/labs are ready to meet training needs.

·Responsible for the proper functioning of a Tool Service Tool Store.

·Maintains serialized and calibrated tools following all written procedures to ensure metrology processes are followed.

·Maintains housekeeping 6S standards pursuant to established procedures.

·Partners with our client’s material handlers to track, audit, optimize and process movement of materials, parts and tools.

·Performs some administrative tasks, as needed. 

Qualifications:

·Two years of experience with managing tools and materials in an aviation environment.

·Ability to follow and adhere to written and verbal instructions from training management.

·Understands basics of training schedule and able to identify/rectify material constraints.

·Proficient with common software (Microsoft Office, SAP, etc.).

·Ability to learn/operate our client’s production software.

·Must be able to perform basic IT tasks (screen setup, troubleshoot software/hardware connection issues, setup printers, etc.).

·May be required to use power moving equipment and tools, to include operating a scooter in the performance of duties.

Preferred Qualifications:

·Bachelor’s degree is a plus and will be taken into consideration when looking at experience.

·Experience in aviation-related processes (FOD, Tool Control, 6S, Consumable Control).

·Previous personnel management or leadership experience in an aircraft production environment.

·Experience in aircraft manufacturing training a plus.

·Capable of writing, editing, and producing materials for technical instruction use; provide assistance and support to production operations by helping determine training needs.

·Secret security clearance a plus but not required.
