Gowan Company is Hiring a Systems Administrator Near Yuma, AZ
Responsible for the operational support, planning, implementation, and performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems. Serves as a technical expert in the area of system administration for complex server and desktop operating systems. Investigates and analyzes feasibility of system requirements and develops system specifications.
\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain installation configurations, instructions, and knowledgebase
- Perform ongoing performance maintenance, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required
- Maintain data center environment and monitor equipment
- Perform daily monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes. Reviewing system and application logs and verifying completion of schedule jobs and backups
- Apply OS patches and upgrades for servers and desktops on a regular basis and upgrade administrative applications and tools
- Respond to and resolve incident and service request tickets in support queue as appropriate
- Stay abreast of the latest product upgrades to ensure that all systems software is up to date as possible
- Document processes and systems as they are deployed.
- Provide after-hours and weekend support as needed
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline.
- Working knowledge of PC’s and operating systems such as Windows 10, Windows 11, Mac OS, Linux
- Experience with installing, managing, and troubleshooting Microsoft Server 2012, 2016, 2019
- Experience with On-Premises Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active Directory
- Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell
- Experience with VMware ESXi and vCenter Server
- Experience with Enterprise grade storage systems preferably Dell EMC
- Experience with Cisco Unified Computing System
- Experience with automated patching solutions like SCCM and WSUS
- Experience with backup and data retention using Commvault
- Experience with Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plan process and solutions
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Platform services including but not limited to: Enterprise applications, Multi-factor authentication, Compliance Policies, Security
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Applications and Security: Intune, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Advanced Threat Protection, Compliance and Security, Security audits
- Understanding of LAN/WAN networking, IPv4, DNS Server, DHCP Server, VPN, LDAP
- Understanding of Cybersecurity standards
- Experience with Email Security Solutions like Cisco Email Security Appliance
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Bi-lingual preferred: English, Spanish
- Occasional Travel Required
