GovGig is Hiring a Construction Scheduler (CS) Near Tacoma, WA

The Construction Scheduler is responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing project schedules for construction projects. They create detailed schedules, identify critical paths, allocate resources, monitor progress, and assess risks. Utilizing project management software, they communicate schedule information to stakeholders, manage changes, and generate regular reports to facilitate informed decision-making. The role involves collaboration with project teams and a focus on ensuring timely and efficient project completion.

Key Responsibilities:

Specific tasks for the CS include but are not limited to the following:

  • Offers support and technical guidance to engineers and architects overseeing construction and design management of Capital Improvements projects.
  • Regularly communicates and collaborates with both technical and non-technical NAVFAC personnel within the Facilities Engineering Command.
  • Evaluates project scopes and proposes reasonable construction durations.
  • Reviews Baseline Schedules and monthly contractor updates for compliance with contract requirements.
  • Assists in validating impacts to the approved construction schedule.
  • Analyzes possibilities for the contractor to recover from current delays and meet the contract completion date.
  • Develops, maintains, and delivers scheduling training to field offices and personnel, covering fundamental aspects such as network analysis schedules, critical path method, time impact analysis, baseline, progress, and as-built schedule reviews, guide specifications requirements, and software usage.
  • Guides and trains Design staff on the proper editing and application of scheduling guide specifications for incorporation into contract documents.

Education/Experience:

  • Engineering Degree, Associates Degree in Construction Management, Construction Technology or Building Construction Required plus a minimum of 5 years of Construction Scheduling experience.
  • OR a High School Diploma and 10 years of Construction Scheduling experience.
  • Must have NAVFAC experience. Please include projects in your resume.
  • Must be located in Washington State. No relocation assistance will be provided.
  • Experience in preparing or analyzing Time-Impact-Analysis as it relates to time extension requests or claims.
  • Registration as a Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) is desirable.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to evaluate baseline schedules and monthly updates.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and, when requested, independently develop and provide technical recommendations/ solutions regarding scheduling issues and time impacts on complex problems encountered during the administration of the construction contracts.
  • In depth experience interpreting construction drawings and specifications on construction projects.
  • Proficient in organizational communication.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong capability in active listening.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse personalities.
  • Knowledgeable in establishing and maintaining relationships with Federal clients.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in handling multiple projects and tasks, prioritizing, and organizing work efficiently under stress in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to navigate constant change.
  • Proficiency in using computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as Adobe Acrobat Professional.
  • Capable of performing tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
