GovGig is Hiring a Construction Quality Control Manager Near Leavenworth, KS

The Quality Control Manager oversees the planning, design, implementation, and management of quality control and quality assurance processes, procedures, and documentation. This includes activities related to deliverable preparation, tracking, and reviews in the fields of construction, fuels, environmental remediation, and demolition.

Key Responsibilities:

The Quality Control Manager ensures the achievement of project goals within the specified timeframe and budget by:

  • Assisting in the preparation of proposal technical approaches and cost estimates related to Quality Program implementation.
  • Creating Quality Control Project Plans, encompassing Definable Features of Work, inspection requirements, and testing plans. Develop relevant field forms associated with this Plan.
  • Ensuring compliance with Submittal requirements, including maintaining submittal logs, tracking review/approval/resubmittal, and reviewing technical submittals as needed based on subject matter expertise.
  • Assisting the project team in preparing Request for Information (RFIs) as necessary.
  • Implementing the 3-phase Quality Control process in the field in accordance with USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors training.
  • Documenting field quality deficiencies and tracking them through the Deficiency Log to closeout.
  • Establishing and leading a QC team of subject matter experts to execute successful job-specific QC programs.
  • Collaborating with the field team to understand the timing and rationale for quality “hold points” for inspection and testing. Planning with the field team to effectively implement the inspection and testing plan.
  • Completing targeted Daily Quality Control Reports, notes of Preparatory and Initial Phase meetings, and deficiency reports. The focus should be on features of the work inspected and tested and the results of those inspections/testing, not field productivity.

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree desired.
  • Must have heavy HVAC/Boiler work experience
  • Professional Experience: 2 years of experience with federal construction.
  • OSHA 30.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • USACE experience Required.
  • Current certification in USACE Construction Quality.

  • Knowledgeable in establishing and maintaining relationships with Federal clients.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in handling multiple projects and tasks, prioritizing, and organizing work efficiently under stress in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to navigate constant change.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours when required to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, and others.
  • Familiarity with commercial scheduling software like MSProject or Primavera P6.
  • Capable of performing tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Ability to oversee all aspects of construction projects for various clients and project delivery methods.
  • Understanding of the estimating process.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
