GovCIO is Hiring a Systems Test Engineer SME Near Washington, DC

Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for System Test Engineer SME to function as an integral member of the Control Tower program team, providing technical and organizational guidance, expertise, review, and feedback for testing components. The Control Tower tester will provide SME level testing oversight expertise for the Next Generation Global Health Supply Chain Suite of Programs Control Tower Project. This position will be located in Washington DC and will be a hybrid position with a need for intermitent on-site support for client meetings and program support events.

Responsibilities

The Control Tower tester will provide SME level testing oversight expertise for the Next Generation Global Health Supply Chain Suite of Programs Control Tower Project. The test engineer position will function as an integral member of the Control Tower program team, providing technical and organizational guidance, expertise, review, and feedback for testing components.

 Examples of anticipated work activity:

  • Creating a project test plan which will cover the scope of testing, testing approach, testing schedule, testing resources, testing tools, testing environments, and testing deliverables for the project, along with the anticipated risks to testing activities.
  • Creating test cases and test execution results for all testing activities conducted.
  • Conducting unit testing, functional system testing, integration testing, accessibility testing (verifying Section 508 compliant at a minimum), end-to-end scenario testing, performance testing, security testing, and any other identified applicable non-functional requirement testing activities, and facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of the system.
  • Conducting compatibility testing with USAID-approved environments and devices.
  • Creating a Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) that designates essential project elements to include requirements (i.e., functional, non-functional, security and compliance), associated objectives, tests, goals, and the status of each requirement. The RTM then presents this information in a logical format by using identification numbers for requirements and test cases and adding space in the documents for results, validation, and overall system requirements delivery.
  • Creating test reports that includes a summary of the test execution results for all functional and
  • Facilitating non-functional testing activities, communicating information on any deviations from the approved Test Plan, and creating an assessment of the effectiveness of the testing activities, and specifics regarding all test cases that failed along with all remaining open defects. UAT results will be summarized and included in this Test Report.
  • Monitoring performance of compatibility testing with USAID-approved environments and devices.
  • Consults with the development and/or requirements team to coordinate and test applications.
  • Develops testing procedures.
  • Develops test plans, scripts, scenarios, functional tests, regression tests, and deployment tests.
  • Implements the testing processes and ensures all test activities follow those processes. Produces reports on each test activity and tracks test metrics.
  • Monitors for continual test process improvement through failure analysis, throughput analysis, yield analysis, and report to management periodically.

Qualifications

Bachelor's with 12 years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

  • 10-15 years of Enterprise Business and Enterprise Level Testing experience within a government environment.
  • User Experience and User Interface testing (UX/UI).
  • Experience supporting the execution and reporting of various enterprise level verification and validation activities, including Unit and Integration Testing, Smoke Testing, System Testing, Regression Testing, End-to-end Testing, Acceptance Testing, Security Testing, Accessibility Testing, Performance Testing, Usability Testing, Compatibility Testing, and Recovery Testing.
  • Strong written and verbal communcation skills
  • Clearance Required: Secret (US Citizenship Required)

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $150,000.00 - USD $175,000.00 /Yr.
