GovCIO is Hiring a Cloud Administrator Near Hanover, MD

Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Hybrid Remote Cloud Administrator to configure, deploy, refine, and administer AWS-based resources using both Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux. This position will be a Hybrid Remote position, location Hanover, MD.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, deploy, improve, and administer AWS-based resources.
  • Build, install, configure, STIG, test and deploy AWS infrastructure and DevSecOps platform components as new requirements arise.
  • Build, install, configure, STIG, test and deploy Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows servers.
  • Perform routine systems administration, monitoring, and maintenance (e.g., version upgrades, patching, account management, routine troubleshooting) on AWS-based instances.
  • Conduct routine audits of platform components and software to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and other relevant guidelines.
  • Support the management and monitoring of numerous AWS-hosted features and services and maintain backups and disaster recovery of these resources.
  • Produce documentation as needed on relevant systems operations and maintenance procedures to inform changes to applications and/or the platform.
  • Document and propose improvements to business processes workflows.
  • Attend regular and ad hoc client meetings to coordinate/monitor customer satisfaction and overall program performance.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • High School with 10 years (or commensurate experience). 
  • IAT level II certification (i.e., CompTIA Security (CE))
  • 8 years of progressive Systems Administration experience.
  • Must be able to obtain Secret Clearance
  • 3 years working with AWS cloud technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows server administration in an AWS environment and/or DevSecOps Tools and Technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of migration of applications.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of deployment, configuration, and maintenance of applications in a virtualized environment.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of information security practices (for example: cryptography, privilege separation, RBAC, INFOSEC, auditing, patching, OS hardening) in an AWS environment.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with customers and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Certification in AWS DevSecOps or other AWS Certification and/or Experience.
  • Experience with virtual and/or cloud based servers and applications.
  • Excellent technical documentation and reporting skills.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Certification(s) in relevant technologies.

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $160,000.00 - USD $180,000.00 /Yr.
