Gotham Ready Mix is Hiring a Filing Clerk Near Hollis, NY

Gotham Ready Mix, LLC is hiring a Filing Clerk for our Accounts Payable department. The Filing Clerk facilitates the efficient operation of the Accounts Payable department by performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks. (Accounts Payable experience is NOT required for this role.)

*Please note that the position requires reporting to our office in Jamaica, Queens. This is not a hybrid or remote position.*

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform administrative duties, such as data entry, filing, scanning, and updating records.
  • Assist the Accounts Payable department by organizing bills of lading.
  • Create and maintain electronic and physical filing systems as assigned.
  • Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports.
  • Retrieve information as requested from records, email, minutes, and other related documents; prepare written summaries of data when needed.
  • Answer and transfer phone calls, screening when necessary.
  • Respond to and resolve administrative inquiries and questions.
  • Handle administrative requests and queries from senior managers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as recordkeeping and filing.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Extensive knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
  • Ability to operate general office equipment.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an administrative role.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
