A Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a specialization in mood disorders is needed to join a top psychiatrist MD outpatient office. The role involves working with individuals with mood disorders like depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related disorders. The role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions. A sign-on bonus is offered.
Job Responsibilities:
Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients presenting with mood disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related disorders. This involves gathering information about the client's presenting problems, mental health history, current symptoms, and relevant psychosocial factors.
Diagnosis: Utilize diagnostic criteria from the DSM-5 or other relevant diagnostic manuals to formulate accurate diagnoses for clients with mood disorders.
Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and in collaboration with clients. Treatment plans should be evidence-based and tailored to the unique needs and goals of each client.
Psychotherapy: Provide evidence-based psychotherapy interventions for clients with mood disorders. This may include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), interpersonal therapy (IPT), mindfulness-based interventions, or other appropriate modalities.
Medication Management Collaboration: Collaborate with the supervising psychiatrist MD to coordinate care for clients who may benefit from medication management in addition to psychotherapy. This may involve providing input on medication efficacy, side effects, and adherence.
Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention services for clients experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms or in crisis situations related to their mood disorder.
Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and other relevant records in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
Collaboration and Consultation: Collaborate with other members of the treatment team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other mental health professionals, to provide comprehensive care for clients.
Client Education and Support: Provide education and support to clients and their families about mood disorders, treatment options, coping skills, and self-care strategies.
Professional Ethics: Adhere to ethical principles and standards of professional conduct in all aspects of clinical practice, including maintaining client confidentiality and boundaries.
Quality Improvement and Outcome Monitoring: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and outcome monitoring activities to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and improve the quality of care provided to clients.
Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:
Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC or LMFT in the state.
Expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities for mood disorders, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
Strong understanding of psychopharmacology and the ability to collaborate effectively with psychiatrists and other medical professionals.
Proven track record of delivering successful outcomes in treating mood disorders.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to establish rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Salary:
$115k-$130k per year, plus bonuses
