Gossett Implant and Oral Surgery is Hiring a Dental Assistant Oral Surgery Near Schertz, TX

A busy oral surgery practice is seeking a chair-side oral surgery assistant for our Schertz, TX office location. Applicants must be a team player, enthusiastic, caring, and dependable. This is a full time position Mon-Thu 8-5 and Friday 8-3. Required skills include chair-side assistant experience preferably in an oral surgery office. BLS and DAANCE certification preferred.

REGISTERED DENTAL ASSISTANT – POSITION DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of the Supervisors, Administrator and Doctors, has responsibility for providing surgical assistance to the doctors and patient care duties for non-surgical patients. Performs other duties as assigned or requested at a busy oral surgery practice in Schertz and New Braunfels, TX.

Position Qualifications:

Education and Training:

Strong background in oral surgery office preferred. Hold a current unrestricted State of Texas registration as a Registered Dental Assistant. Current unrestricted certification in anesthesia (“DAANCE”) or will obtain within six months of hire date. Must be BLS certified.

Experience:

A minimum of one year prior experience in an oral surgery practice as a surgical assistant preferred.

Knowledge and Abilities:

Ability to work independently and cooperatively (as a team member), set priorities and compete tasks; must be well organized and able to maintain an accurate EMR (WinOMS). Competent surgical assistant capabilities. Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information. Knowledge of rules, regulations and laws applicable to an oral surgery practice. Must be detail oriented and have the flexibility to manage changing priorities. Excellent verbal and written skills. Proficient with computers and office software products, including EMR.

Organizational Data: This is an hourly position, supervised by the Supervisors, Administrator and the doctors. This position does not supervise staff.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
