Goshen Therapeutic Services, a division of Goshen Valley Foundation, is a community based social service organization that provides services for families involved with DFCS as well as in the community.

We are currently seeking a Parent Aide who can provide parent coaching and training as outlined in service authorization provided by DFCS.

Counties we serve mainly include but are not limited to: Cherokee, Cobb, Bartow, Pickens, Floyd, Paulding, and Polk.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize evidenced based curriculum provided by the agency.
• Assist families who are involved with DFCS (Dept. of Family and Children Services) in building parental capacity and/or work towards reunification through parent skills training and linkage to community resources.
• Facilitate and supervise visitation between approved parents and children as identified in the case plan.
• Collaborate with case managers, other contractors, and community partners to ensure effective treatment and case collaboration.
• Attend court hearings or case panel hearings to testify as requested by attorneys and DFCS.
• Track units of service and dates of service outlined on the service authorization.
• Document all services in Electronic Health record.
• Maintain compliance with required trainings: Safe to Sleep, Child Safety Car Seat, HIPPA, Workplace Violence, Security Information, Awareness, Indian Child Welfare Act, etc.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field. (Human Services degrees which are acceptable: Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, Social Work, Child Development, Community Mental Health, Human Services, Criminal Justice (only with Department of Juvenile Justice experience), Education (experience teaching k-12 grade) , Masters or Higher in Christian Counseling or Theology (must have a letter from Georgia Composite Board of Professional Counselors, Social Workers and Marriage & Family Therapist stating they are eligible to take the licensure exam or must have 5 years of human service experience in one of the above fields. 
• Be of good character, and supportive of the programs, policies, and ideals of Goshen Valley Foundation.
• Complete and pass a criminal background check (DHS OIG) and other safety screenings and drug screen.
• Must submit a valid and official transcript showing proof of degree awarded.
• Valid Driver’s License with good driving record, proof of auto insurance meeting required 100/300/100 liability coverage, and be insurable by GVF's auto insurance carrier.

• Must have access to a computer and telephone to contact clients and document services provided.
