Goshen Community Schools is Hiring a GHS Welcome Center Receptionist 1 Near Goshen, IN

The following vacancy exists in Goshen Community Schools for the 2023-24 school year:
Goshen High SchoolWelcome Center Receptionist 1POSITION PURPOSE: The purpose of the Welcome Center Receptionist is to provide customer service to all students, staff, parents, and visitors that come through the door or call the welcome center. This person promotes GHS to the community through a positive and proactive attitude.
Essential Functions
  • Assist in answering school phones during non-arrival/dismissal or lunch periods
  • Assist in monitoring the commons area during student arrival/dismissal and lunches
  • Assist with general office support such as stuffing envelopes, folding materials, or typing routine correspondence such as morning announcements
  • Direct all visitors and guests to the appropriate office or location within the building
  • Monitor and track all students signing in and out of the building during the academic day
  • Monitor school radio at all times
  • Notify the SRO and or office staff or any possible threats, potentially threatening visitors or situations which may become violent
  • Professionally greet all visitors and guests and make sure they have signed in and have a visitor badge
  • Sign for packages and deliveries when appropriate
  • Use Skyward to locate students and teachers when necessary
  • Welcome and ensure that ALL visitors have signed in and are wearing a visitor’s badge
  • All other duties as assigned by the principal or his/her designee
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Bilingual preferred
Qualifications
  • Ability and willingness to learn the Skyward database software
  • Ability to get along with students and help professionally manage their behavior
  • Ability to get along with the staff
  • Ability to welcome all visitors and assist them with needs
  • Basic office skills
  • Basic phone etiquette and computer skills
  • Calm demeanor in stressful situations
  • Pleasant with public
  • Professional demeanor with all students and staff
  • Strong communication skills
WORK CALENDAR: School Year - 180 days per year; 40 hours per week 7:00AM-3:30PM
SALARY: $17.50-$18.25, rate is dependent upon education and/or experience. (Schedule #22-1)
