Position Summary

The person in this position is primarily working in the warehouse doing inbound, outbound, and credit returns work along with other standard warehouse duties. This person also assists in making deliveries, whether it be from busy days or for helping with other team members paid time off.

Responsibilities and Duties

Warehouse

• Fill orders quickly and accurately.
• Notify Purchasing and Sales when orders cannot be filled as directed and/or notify Purchasing when inventory levels appear low.
• Initial pick tickets as orders are loaded onto racks.
• Service will-call clients in a professional and timely manner.
• Inspect condition and quantity of received materials before properly placing them in correct bin locations in the warehouse.
• Communicate all deviations to management (in advance) to facilitate proper changes in the inventory control system.
• Assemble furniture as needed.
• Label and store all non-stock items.
• Receive inventory replenishment orders and place in the proper locations.
• Complete cycle counts and inventory checks in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assist in loading and unloading vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
• Verify product descriptions, condition, amounts and locations.
• Reconcile printed pick tickets to stock.
• Maintain cleanliness and neatness of warehouse.

Delivery Driver

• Must demonstrate a Client First sales and service mentality.
• Load delivery orders onto truck in a logical manner.
• Fill in for other full time drivers when they are on vacation or out sick.
• Make deliveries per client specification, pleasantly interacting with all clients.
• Handle product returns properly and courteously.
• Inspect vehicle daily at beginning and end of route to ensure that the delivery vehicle is maintained in safe working order. Report any problems or accidents to management.
• Maintain cleanliness and neatness of vehicle.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance including clean, well-maintained company apparel.

Experience, Education and Skill Requirements

• Positively interact with other associates to promote teamwork.
• Able to communicate and interact effectively and pleasantly with co-workers, vendors and clients.
• Ensures all paperwork is properly and accurately filled out, maintained, and filed.
• Able to regularly move merchandise up to 75 pounds.
• Able to stand or walk for extended periods of time with only short rest breaks.
• Able to stand on a ladder and reach to place or retrieve product from upper shelves.
• Able to sit for long periods and drive a large vehicle in heavy traffic as much as 150 miles in a day.
• Able to make deliveries into buildings with varied types of access.
• Moderate computer skills.
• Able to use hand trucks, carts, pallet jacks, and similar equipment safely and inspects such equipment daily to ensure they are maintained in a safe working order.
• Able to use simple hand and light duty power tools safely.
• Have a valid driver's license, maintain an excellent driving record and meet all state and insurance company requirements for operating a delivery truck.
• Have, or be able to obtain within one month, Forklift Certification. Maintain an excellent record and meet all state and insurance requirements for operating a fork lift.
• Able to read, write, and understand English.
• Maintain productivity standards as judged by the performance of the average warehouse associate and delivery driver.
• Other requirements and qualifications may be required and/or assigned as necessary.

Other

• Demonstrate a commitment to the company's core values of customer satisfaction, safety, integrity, profitability, and process improvement.
• Monday through Friday schedule, not including major holidays when the business is closed.
• Hours may vary
• Must be able to pass drug screening and background checks.
