Workers’ Compensation Attorney (Indiana)

Hybrid or Remote Based

We are seeking an attorney with Workers' Compensation experience to join our client, a growing defense law firm in Chicago. The attorney will manage Workers' Compensation cases and resolve legal disputes on behalf of clients by developing agreements, settling claims, and advocating for clients in court and arbitration. This individual will work with managing partners to build client relationships and provide excellent results for customers. The position will be on an ongoing of-counsel or full-time employment basis, depending on experience and agreement upon employment.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Independently manage caseload involving Workers' Compensation matters
  • Work closely with other attorneys on legal projects
  • Represent clients in a wide range of litigation claims
  • Regularly handle court appearances and conduct depositions and trials
  • Communicate with clients and provide status reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's management systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Knowledge of Workers' Compensation-related laws and regulations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Education and Experience

  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice in Indiana
  • Additional licenses in Wisconsin and Illinois are a plus
  • Candidates with experience on caselaw for personal injury or insurance will be considered

License/Certifications

  • Indiana State Bar License (Required)

Work Location

The position will be hybrid-based for an attorney living in Illinois or remotely if residing in Indiana.
